When asked how hard math is, 50% of students rate math a 7 of 10 or higher
Students were asked to rate how hard math was for them. The most common response was a tie for 7 and 8 of ten. In fact, 50% of students rated math a 7 or above in difficulty.
An overwhelming majority of students defined math as 'boring,' 'pain,' or just 'numbers'
When asked what students find difficult about math, students often report difficulty focussing or getting engaged, and a large portion of them simply state 'everything.' Many students explain that the lecture-oriented classes provoke them to lose interest and not pay attention. Students wish they had 'a more interactive class,' 'more hands-on work,' and 'a reason to engage.'
